About Us

In December 2003 Congress enacted legislation modifying regulations regarding service-disabled veteran-owned companies. One month later, in January 2004 Colonel Dennis Fontana (US Army Retired) formed Sentry Box Services. Mr. Fontana's background includes 40-years experience in facilities maintenance and construction, culminating in his assignment as Director of Public Works at Fort Carson. After his retirement in 1998, Mr. Fontana gained experience as a contractor working for a large base operating support services company.

Now in its tenth year of operations, Sentry Box Services has been a solid success. Among the company's accomplishments are outstanding past performance as evidenced by a Subcontractor-of-the-Year nomination from the Army at Fort Jackson, a remarkable safety record (EMR .95), eight successful multi-year multi-million dollar competitive wins from the United States Air Force, and multiple military construction contracts. The company has performed work in nineteen locations in nine states - on both firm fixed price and cost plus contracts.

Dennis Fontana has 40 years' experience in a variety of management and leadership positions in both public and private sectors. Mr. Fontana has documented success in customer satisfaction, construction management, facilities management, contract management, and organizational management.

As Director of Public Works for two of the Army’s largest installations, Mr. Fontana achieved high levels of customer satisfaction with a hands-on approach to address specific job requirements. He successfully employed this strategy while working as a Project Manager for Military Family Housing Maintenance contracts.

In total, Mr. Fontana has timely project completions in 20 countries and territories located on three continents and several Pacific Islands. He has successfully managed functions such as engineering, construction, renovation, repair, real estate, master planning, and fire protection.
